DG3 covers Thornhill and the villages around it, including Townhead, Dunreggan, Kirkland, Holmhead, Closeburn, Carronbridge and Penpont. It is a small district, home to around 4,600 people across roughly 2,200 households. It borders DG1, DG2, DG4, DG7, DG10 and DG11, plus KA18 and ML12.
